Strut Your Mutt 2007 Information
A gentle reminder - Your dog must be on leash at all times and have an ID tag displayed. Please be prepared to show proof of current rabies vaccination at the time of registration. We ask that you be prepared to "clean up" after your canine. We will provide bags and trash cans along the route.




When? Saturday, June 9th. The Strut starts at 11 a.m.

How do I register?
Just show up on Strut Day around 10:15 a.m.

Can I pre-register? Yes! Applications can be picked up at Barb's Video or the Homer Bookstore
or printed out
right here on our website

Are pledges being accepted?
Yes!! Pledge sheet can be printed out right here on our website. We appreciate any pledge donations collected! 
Where will the Strut start?
Homer High School's lower parking lot.

Route:
follow the trail up behind the High School to Elderberry then to Calhoun Trail to Fairview and then back to High School - approx. 1.5 miles - maps will be available at Strut

Why is this event being held?
To raise money to support our low-cost spay/neuter program

What is the Cost?
$10 per person (Dogs walk free)
Free for kids who are 10 years and under if accompanied by a paid adult
$25 for a family of 3 or more
Every dog must be accompanied by a paid participant

Can I register if I don't have a dog to walk? Yes! Everyone is welcome, with or without a dog to walk. If you don't have a dog, call the
Shelter at 235-3141 and talk to Sherry about "renting" one! Our shelter dogs would absolutely love the chance to go for a walk and play games.
If you're a Cat Person, you can come walk in honor of your feline friend, but please leave your cat at home!


What should I bring?
Have clothes for all kinds of weather conditions, especially rain. Bring money to buy some of the delicious food and
drinks that will be offered, or to buy a Homer Animal Friends T-Shirt, or to buy pictures of you or your pet participating in the Strut.

Best Dog Trick

 Best Costume 

Biggest/Smallest Dog

 Best Doggie Kisses: Which dog gives the best kisses?

 Look Alike: Which owner and dog look the most alike?

 Dog Wagging Time: Which dog can wag its tail the longest?


Will there be any games to play with my dog?

Sit and Stay: How long can your dog sit and stay while watching you from afar?

  Water Balloon Toss: Your dog will LOVE watching that balloon fly through air!

 Musical Frisbees: Dogs will walk in a circle and must sit when the music stops. Owners have to have a foot on the Frisbee

  Agility Course: Practice running the course with your dog.


We will be providing drinking water for the dogs in the form of large community swimming pools. If it's a hot day, the dogs may even be climbing into the pools. If your dog requires a separate drinking container, please bring your own bowl.
